Ocean Park Hong Kong Volunteer Team

Ocean Park Corporate Volunteering Service:

Ocean Park Corporation is a world-class conservation and education hub. The core mission of the volunteer team is to establish a sustainable ecosystem of volunteer services, promote environmental conservation, and support communities in need by encouraging corporate volunteers to participate in community service. This will deepen the Park’s organisational culture and enhance its overall excellence.

Ocean Park’s Volunteer Team plays an active role in community programmes, charity activities and conservation initiatives, extending the Park’s reach to benefit the wider community. We value the depth and breadth of our services, and recognise that volunteer service plays a vital role in connecting communities and promoting inclusion.

At the same time, our volunteering activities are aligned with all 17 of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This fosters cross-sector partnerships that amplify our sustainable contributions to society and the environment. We believe that volunteering is a lasting commitment that drives holistic progress in conservation, education and social responsibility, rather than a one-off action.

Toy Donation Drive

To celebrate the Giant Panda Twins’ first Children’s Day and spread joy, Ocean Park held a 'Toy Donation Drive'. During the event, children were invited to participate by donating toys. Donated toys were inspected and disinfected by our volunteers and then delivered to the 'Community Living Room', bringing warmth and smiles to families in need.

This initiative was not just about donating supplies, but also about passing on love. Through the joint participation of volunteers and children, we extended the joyful spirit brought by the Giant Panda Twins to the community and provided care and support to children in the community.

Therapy Dog Experience Day

Ocean Park Volunteer Team is dedicated to fostering harmony between people and animals. In partnership with the Rise Wise Foundation, the team organised a 'Therapy Dog Experiential Day', during which professionally certified therapy dogs interacted with children with special educational needs (SEN) at the Park. These interactions helped to foster the children’s emotional well-being and social skills during their visit.

Cherishing Food, Sharing Love

Ocean Park Volunteer Team actively participates in the Food Angel’s initiative, transforming surplus edible ingredients into nutritious meals and delivering them to those in need. This ensures that food is used effectively and reduces waste.

Additionally, the team continues to distribute 'Blessed Meals' at the Gingko House, providing community families with warmth, care, support, and joy. Our Volunteer Team organised the 'Mooncake Donation and Recycling Campaign' in collaboration with various charities. We collected surplus, edible mooncakes that had been donated by colleagues within the Park, and redistributed them to people in need within the community, in order to share the festive blessings.

Thanks to the support of our partners and the efforts of the volunteer team, more people in need feel the love of society, and we are working together to create a sustainable and caring community.

Creative Green Workshop

Ocean Park Volunteer Team collaborated with Foodlink Foundation to make creative use of recycled resources. They transformed rescued fruit into healthy treats such as jams and jellies and repurposed coffee grounds into eco-friendly soap. These handmade products were shared with community children. Volunteers visited the herb garden at Aroma Office and made unique natural aromatherapy sachets, with the team gave to families in need in the community.

Through these creative activities, the Volunteer Team integrated environmental values into everyday life, bringing care and joy to the community. At the same time, they embraced the spirit of sustainability, nurturing kindness and environmental awareness to the hearts of children involved.
