To nurture a strong conservation mindset from an early age, Ocean Park Hong Kong offers continuous experiential learning for kindergarten, primary and secondary students, alongside dedicated support for teaching. By providing diverse, cross-disciplinary activities and resources, we encourage students to explore biodiversity from multiple perspectives, experience the many ways people are connected with nature, and develop well-rounded knowledge, skills and values.

Ocean Park Academy Hong Kong Programmes

Local Student Programmes

Ocean Park is an ideal destination for life-wide learning. Ocean Park Academy Hong Kong offers over 50 programmes that deepen students’ understanding of animals through observation and interactive experiences, reinforcing and extending what they learn in class. In addition to onsite activities, we also provide learning opportunities in schools, online, in the countryside and even outside Hong Kong. Our programmes are closely aligned with the curriculum of Education Bureau, HKSAR Government, including the newly introduced Science and Humanities subjects. They support the 'Learning to Learn 2+' framework, nurture students’ spirit of inquiry, while echoing the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals to inspire conservation action.

To support schools in promoting environmental education, we have invited principals and teachers from nearly 100 kindergartens, primary and secondary schools to form the Teachers Working Group, offering professional advice on programme design and teaching materials. Members of the group review the use of our facilities to ensure resources are deployed flexibly to meet the evolving needs of the schools.

Cross-Border Study Tour Programmes

Ocean Park received recognition from the Education Bureau of Guangzhou Municipality and Guangdong Study Travel Association in 2024, becoming Hong Kong’s first institution to be accredited as 'Fourth Batch of Guangzhou City Research Study Practice Education Base for Primary and Secondary School Students' and 'Guangdong Province Research Study Tour Practice Base'. We integrate tourism and education resources to offer programmes for primary and secondary students across diverse learning areas. This makes us the top destination for mainland students on Hong Kong study tours, while also attracting educational organisations from across Asia. Since 2024, we have welcomed over 20,000 students from the mainland China, Japan, Korea and Southeast Asia.

To promote educational exchange and encourage Hong Kong students to connect with the world, we actively support the Sister School Scheme of the Education Bureau. Following discussions with the three school heads associations in Hong Kong, we launched sister schools programmes in 2025, creating an interactive platform for mainland students to visit and collaborate with local students beyond traditional classroom settings. Together in the park, they engage in animal observation, interactive games and project learning. These activities not only heighten their conservation awareness, but also foster mutual understanding and learning to enrich their exchange experience.
