Serving as the Hong Kong stop of the World’s Largest Swimming Lesson™ (WLSL), Water World Ocean Park hosted the global drowning prevention event for the fourth consecutive year yesterday. To meet soaring demand, for the first time, the event was run simultaneously at the indoor Horizon Cove Presented by Manulife and the outdoor Big Wave Bay.

More than 1,000 members from the Scout Association of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups, and dozens of passionate adventurers congregated at Water World yesterday for water competency training. Participants were equipped with essential life-saving water safety knowledge, including basic swimming techniques and rescue skills.

Every adventurer completing the course walked away with an official WLSL certificate as a token of encouragement, concluding a landmark day where elite professional mastery and vital community engagement merged to create a safer environment where everyone can enjoy splashing fun.

Alongside dedicated community engagement, the Water World Lifesaving Team celebrated their recent historic sweep at the 26th Hong Kong Lifesaving Grand Parade and Beach Games Championships organised by the Hong Kong China Life Saving Society. By clinching the top honour of the Overall Performance Men's Section Champion, the team has officially been named the Honorary Lifesaving Marching Team, receiving the ultimate privilege of leading all professional lifesaving teams across the city at the 2027 Hong Kong Life Saving Grand Parade.

To accommodate this year's record-breaking scale of more than 1,000 participants at the Hong Kong stop of the World’s Largest Swimming Lesson™, Water World implements a dual-venue setup for the first time, extending the lesson to the outdoor Big Wave Bay, and the indoor Horizon Cove Presented by Manulife.

Members from the Scout Association of Hong Kong and The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups join other adventurers to master practical self-rescue and swimming skills, such as floating and breathing techniques, under the guidance of Water World’s professional instructors.

The Water World Lifesaving Team celebrates their triumph as the Overall Performance Men's Section Champion at the 26th Hong Kong Lifesaving Grand Parade and Beach Games Championships.
