Ocean Park Hong Kong Celebrates Muslim-friendly Attraction of The Year Win at Halal in Travel Awards

Ocean Park has been named Muslim-friendly Attraction of The Year at the prestigious Halal in Travel Awards 2026 organised by CrescentRating, the world's leading consultant on Muslim-friendly tourism. This recognition coincides with Hong Kong’s remarkable rise to second place for Muslim-friendly Destination of The Year among the non-Organisation of Islamic Cooperation destinations on the latest Global Muslim Travel Index (GMTI), reinforcing the city's commitment to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for Muslim travellers.

'As a world-renowned destination, we welcome visitors from diverse cultural and religious backgrounds. Thanks to the promotion efforts led by the Hong Kong Tourism Board, the city has observed a significant increase in Muslim guests, particularly from Southeast Asia, in recent years. By providing comprehensive support facilities, from dedicated prayer spaces to high-standard, certified Halal dining at the Park, we are not only bringing visitors a seamless and comfortable experience but also contributing to Hong Kong’s reputation as a top-tier destination for Muslim travellers.'

A commitment to exceptional guest services

The Park’s dedication to providing a welcoming environment for all is also validated by the Gold Rating from CrescentRating. A key milestone in this ongoing commitment is the recent Halal certification of The Bayview Restaurant in early June 2026, which now offers a fully Halal-friendly menu. All food items are certified by The Incorporated Trustees of The Islamic Community Fund of Hong Kong. This complements the existing portfolio of designated Halal-certified food outlets, which include:

To ensure the highest standards, the food production management system is ISO 22000 certified. Strict segregation is maintained, and all raw materials for Halal cuisines are procured exclusively from Halal-certified suppliers.

Comprehensive facilities

Beyond a range of culinary offerings, the Park is also equipped with comprehensive facilities to support the daily practices of Muslim guests. Complimentary prayer rooms are available at convenient locations throughout both Ocean Park and Water World. To support the spiritual needs of guests, the prayer room at Ocean Park is thoughtfully equipped with Qibla indicators, Qurans in multiple languages, prayer mats, ablution facilities, women’s prayer clothes, prayer time display, and separate areas for men and women that can accommodate two to three people respectively.

In addition, Muslim-friendly washrooms are available for added convenience. These are equipped with ablution facilities and handheld bidet showers. Guests may look for the specific signage on the toilet doors to easily identify these facilities.
